Prompt Templating
Not everyone is able to compose effective prompts to kick off AI conversations, especially for custom agents that require detailed prompts.
The Prompt Templating feature allows org admins to prepare commonly used prompts as templates, so users only need to fill in a minimal set of required information, or just make a few simple selections, to kick off AI conversations.
Use with AI Agents
When defining an AI Agent, prompt templates can be specified in the prompts field. For example:
brief: Review code change
details: Review code change from provided sandbox
instructions: |
Use the sandbox specified and review the code changes and generate a report.
...
tools:
transfer_to_workspace: true
prompts:
- name: default
description: The default prompt
prompt:
inputs:
- name: sandbox
title: Sandbox
description: The sandbox where code change exists
required: true
reference:
kind: SANDBOX
body:
language: mustache
script: >
Review the code change in {{sandbox}}
With prompts defined, a UI form can be used to select the sandbox when launching a conversation. See Prompt in the AI Agent Definition reference for every field of a prompt template.
Use with Quick Tasks
A Quick Task is a shortcut for launching an AI conversation with a single click. As it is defined with a prompt template together with the details of launching an agent, users can simply click it, fill in information or make selections, and start a conversation. See Quick Task Definition for how its prompt and presets are defined.
Use from CLI
The cs llm session run command supports:
--agent-promptto select a prompt template defined in the agent;-i, --input KEY=VALto directly specify an input for the selected prompt template.
