Quick Task
A Quick Task is a tile displayed on the Home page. It serves as a shortcut to launch an AI conversation with a single click.
Definition
A Quick Task specifies everything needed for a single-click experience:
- Prompt — the prompt to start the conversation with. It can be a prompt template when additional information or choices are needed from the user.
- AI conversation context, including:
- the AI Agent;
- the model mapping;
- the target sandbox;
- the allowed or excluded templates;
- the allowed or excluded sub agents;
- the conversation type.
- Execution control — such as the approval policy and streaming.
See Quick Task Definition for every field of a Quick Task.
Use from Web UI
An org admin can define shared Quick Tasks across the org, and select a few of them to be listed for every user on the Home page. See Preparing for Developer Onboarding.
A user can define personal Quick Tasks and personalize the tiles on the Home page.
When a Quick Task tile is clicked:
- if the prompt is defined with inputs, a form pops up to collect the inputs and generate the final prompt;
- otherwise, the prompt is filled directly into the Start new conversation text box.
Clicking the send button then kicks off the conversation.
Use from CLI
The cs llm session run command supports --quick-task NAME to start a conversation using a defined Quick Task.
